Exhaustion means you lack energy or physically or mentally (or both) and reach point where you can’t go much further. Simple rest (not always physical rest, but could be social rest, mental rest, emotional rest, sensory rest etc) typically helps.

If you reach that point of exhaustion yet you keep going…that leads to burnout. It’s like a repetitive motion injury that we continually ignore. It leaves you feeling drained, uninspired and unmotivated. It makes us more prone to health issues.
