By remembering these tragic stories, the film seeks to unravel the suffering of the mothers, whose pain surrounds every death. They talk about these interrupted lives and bring a critical view of the police actions in the Baixada Fluminense, especially concerning violence against young black people. The short documentary has been screened in film festivals in Brazil and abroad, as well as in public debates, movie club sessions, festivals, universities, schools, public squares, among others. The film premiere took place on March 27, 2013, at Cine Odeon. The documentary was licensed for Canal Brasil, where it premiered on August 2018. It's available at the streaming platform kweli.tv.
