Martinus J. G. Veltman

Martinus Justinus Godefriedus Veltman (27 June 1931 – 4 January 2021) was a Dutch theoretical physicist. He shared the 1999 Nobel Prize in Physics with his Ph.D. student Gerard 't Hooft for their work on particle theory. He worked at Utrecht University, and later the University of Michigan in the United States. Veltman was born in Waalwijk, North Brabant.

Veltman died on 4 January 2021 in Bilthoven, Utrecht. He was 89.[1]
