Open-Source Hydroponics

Utilizing Open Source Components to Create Accessible and Engaging Autonomous Hydroponics

Problem Statement

Hydroponics yield high volumes of food with low water input. Current commercial hydroponics control systems limit experimentation, are not education-oriented, and assume high levels of system integration. A control system anyone can use and modify can be incorporated into educational content and households interested in alternative farming methods. Creating a small-scale, open-source system allows hydroponics to be more accessible, affordable, and appealing to various amateur audiences.
