Waterford Pond
BAE 403 Senior Design Project
With recent development in Lexington, one of the Waterford Neighborhood’s ponds has suffered due to increased runoff and erosion bringing more sediment, nutrients, and pollution to the pond. The pond is filling up with sediment, experiencing excessive algae and vegetation due to excess nutrients, and the fountains regularly become clogged with algae and garbage. The pond is a beloved landmark for the residents of the neighborhood, and the algae and clogged fountains have had a very negative affect on the aesthetics of the pond.
