The Vol Study Center offers one-on-one, group, and exam prep sessions for over 240 courses. Peer Learning Assistants (PLAs) host study sessions primarily by appointment (in-person or via Zoom) but drop-ins are also welcome!
Years of data demonstrate that students who attend study sessions receive higher course grades, have higher GPAs, and are more likely to remain in college!
Our Peer Learning Assistants (PLAs) are undergraduate students who have successfully taken the courses for which they offer assistance. All PLAs are extensively trained and can work with you on course content, exam preparation, time management, and strategies for success. If further resources are needed, PLAs can refer you to additional campus resources.
We offer one-on-one (or small group) weekly sessions where you meet with a PLA on the same day and time. Due to high demand, we are limiting the number of sessions that can be reserved for each course. Students may schedule 3 appointments per course at a time. If you are registered with Student Disability Services and would like the option to schedule additional appointments in advance, please contact your SDS Coordinator.
Our services are offered at no cost at six locations across campus. To make your appointment, search in MyUTK for the Vol Connect link. You can also request a weekly appointment through our “Appointment Request Form” button below. Once you submit the request, a staff member from the Vol Study Center will schedule an appointment and reach out with the details. If you have any questions, please contact the Vol Study Center at VolStudyCenter@utk.edu.
