Lake Bob Sandlin State Park
Where East Meets West
Two ecoregions meet here on the shore of Lake Bob Sandlin in northeast Texas. The result: massive trees, tall grasses and a fascinating mix of plants and animals. The fishing is pretty good, too!
Things to Do
This lakeside park offers fun on water and land. Swim, fish, paddle and boat on the 9,000-acre lake. Or picnic, hike, camp, geocache, mountain bike and nature watch under the trees. Visit in autumn to see spectacular fall foliage.
Bring your group for a picnic by the lake at our pavilion.
Review our water safety tips before your visit.
Fishing/Boating
Fish in the lake from shore, pier or boat. Or try your luck at the stocked Trout Pond or Brim Pond. Anglers here catch largemouth bass, catfish and crappie.
The park has a boat ramp, a lighted fishing pier and a fish cleaning station. We loan fishing poles and rent kayaks for use in the park.
You do not need a fishing license to fish from shore or pier in a state park (you will need a license to fish from a boat).
Hiking/Biking
Explore 3.3 miles of wooded trails on bike or foot. Visit our Trails Information page to learn more.
Overnight stays
Choose from 75 campsites with water and electricity, or set up your tent at a primitive campsite.
If you prefer a roof over your head, reserve a cabin or screened shelters.
