I have a modest collection of, what I consider to be, beautifully illustrated children's books, which I adore and get no end of pleasure from flicking through. How wonderful would it be to own even one journal which contains these illustrations below by Honda Shotaro and Okamoto Kiichi, which were part of the Kodomo no kuni illustrated journals written for children between 1922 and 1949. The website is definitely worth some of your time... oh, and make sure you listen to the songs!
