Science – The remains of an ancient HIV-like virus have been found in rabbits. Scientists at Oxford University discovered the unique lentivirus, part of a family of viruses closely related to HIV, 'fossilised' inside the genome of the European rabbit. The discovery promises to change how scientists think about the evolution of viruses including HIV.

Science – Dr. Lenski began his experiment 18 years ago. Since 1989, the bacteria have changed significantly. For one thing, they are twice as big on average as their common ancestor. They are also far better at reproducing in these flasks, dividing 70 percent faster than their ancestor. These changes have emerged through mutations and natural selection.

Gadgets & Tech – Microsoft today rejected claims of anticompetitive behaviour by internet giant Google. Careers & Jobs – You can't get wealthy working for someone anymore. Fifty years ago you could start and end your working career with the same company- they provided you security, a pension, health benefits, and a competitive salary.
