Blue Line

A faculty-directed education abroad program is a University of Kentucky course designed and led by UK faculty or staff abroad. 

  • Guidance from UK Faculty on-site
  • Participate with UK Peers
  • Short term programs: Winter, Summer, Embedded Fall/Spring Semester
  • Earn UK credit that counts towards your UK GPA 

UK EA also offers multiple programs through our partner and exchange programs that offer a variety of locations and credit offerings. Faculty-directed programs are just one program type you can choose from.

  • Explore the Portuguese culture through guided visits to historic and natural sites.

  • Explore one of the most ecologically diverse regions on earth through field visits around the state
  • Learn from local movements in southern Mexico and their struggles for social justice.
  • Create a research project in collaboration with local advisors.
  • Improve Spanish language skills through optional classes.

Stress Reduction & the Cultivation of Happiness

  • Travel to Greece, where people live longer than anywhere else in the world and have low rates of chronic diseases. 
  • Discover the cultural impacts of the Pura Vida, or the pure life to impact healthcare and wellbeing. 
  • Explore the topics of stress-related health issues and cultural insights in managing these.

Global Health and Infectious Diseases in Amsterdam
