ICE arrested a Dominican national convicted in Massachusetts court for pushing heroin in Boston.

“Santos Aibar is exactly the kind of alien offender who needs to be removed from the streets of Massachusetts,” said Patricia Hyde, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Enforcement and Removal Operations acting Boston field office director.

“He has already been convicted of peddling poison to our neighborhoods, and he currently stands accused of assaulting a resident with a box cutter,” Hyde continued.

ICE doesn’t know when and where Aibar entered the United States, but he has left a string of crimes in Massachusetts for years.

The first criminal record ICE has in its statement on Aibar’s arrest was his conviction in September 2008 in West Roxbury District Court for distribution of heroin, for which he got a year in prison.

ICE deported Aibar to the Dominican Republic in 2010 and he illegally entered the U.S. again at an unknown date after that.

The South Boston District Court arraigned Aibar Sept. 03, 2024, for the offenses of assault with dangerous weapon and shoplifting.

Aibar remains in custody following his apprehension by ICE.
