MET Undergraduate Degree Programs
Eligible degree programs include: Art History, Biology, Computer Science, Criminal Justice, English, History, Interdisciplinary Studies, Management Studies (Business Administration, Information Systems), Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology, and Urban Affairs.
Types of Aid
Contingent on the availability of funds at the time that a complete application is filed.
- Federal grants and loans
- State grants and loans
- Boston University grants (must be enrolled more than 12 credits per semester)
How to Apply
Complete the Free Application for Federal student Aid (FAFSA) and notify BU Financial Assistance of your intended enrollment for each session of the academic year on the Metropolitan College Application for Financial Assistance form. Also, complete the CSS Profile™ if you will be enrolling more than 12 credits per semester and wish to be considered for BU need-based scholarship. Eligibility for need-based scholarships is established the first year you receive it, thus filing a Profile is not required in subsequent years; that’s the BU Scholarship Assurance. However, the FAFSAThe Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is used to determine eligibility for state and federal grants, scholarships, and loans. The FAFSA can be completed on the Federal Student Aid website. The Boston University FAFSA school code is 002130. is required each year to apply for federal and state financial aid.
Eligibility Criteria
You must demonstrate financial need, be enrolled in the degree program, and meet certain financial aid programs and enrollment level requirements which include, but are not limited to:
- Federal Pell Grant: at least 4 credits
- Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant: at least 6 credits
- Federal Direct Loan: at least 6 credits
- State Grant: generally at least 12 credits
- BU Grant: more than 12 credits
