Travel Arrangements

Participants make their own travel arrangements and hotel accommodations. The APTA Centennial Center is approximately one mile from the Ronald Reagan National Airport. Parking is available on-site at the APTA Centennial Center. Parking cost is $20 per day.

Developing Programs Workshop

This workshop is designed to assist physical therapist education program administrators and faculty to obtain programmatic accreditation. This includes an overview of the accreditation process, CAPTE’s expectations relevant to the 2024 Standards and Required Elements, and the required evidence of compliance. This workshop focuses on information essential for institutions developing a physical therapist or physical therapist assistant education program. The Program Director and at least one higher administrator of the institution must attend the Developing Program Workshop prior to submission of the Application for Candidacy.

The PT in-person workshop occurs over 1.5 days onsite in APTA's centennial center in Alexandria, VA. Review of a recorded webinar will NOT satisfy the attendance requirement for submission of an Application for Candidacy.

Course Cost:
PT In-person developing workshop - APTA Centennial Center: $250 for the first individual from a program. $225 for each additional registrant from the same program for the same workshop date with registration completed at the same time. Coffee, beverages, and snacks are provided each day. Lunch will be provided on day one.

PTA virtual developing workshop: $175 per individual, The PTA virtual workshops involve completing asynchronous modules and one 3-hour synchronous virtual session.

CEUs will be available through APTA's Learning Center upon successful completion of assessment.

The workshop prepares faculty and program administrators to develop a Self-study Report and host a site visit. This workshop will provide an in-depth review of CAPTE's Standards and Required Elements.

PTA Programs Self-Study Workshop

This workshop is designed to assist physical therapist assistant education program administrators, program directors, faculty, and reviewers to obtain information about the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education’s (CAPTE’s) expectations for compliance with the 2024 Standards and Required Elements for Physical Therapist Assistant Education Programs, prepare a Self-study Report, and undergo a successful programmatic review.

Course Cost:

Program Reviewer Training

Accreditation involves a process by which institutions and programs demonstrate quality and achievement of designated outcomes. A successful accreditation process requires competent reviewers who objectively evaluate information provided by the institution or program which leads to a decision about compliance with specified standards and awarding an accreditation status. The Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE), as the sole agency recognized in the United States for awarding accreditation to physical therapist and physical therapist assistant education programs, has established specific quality standards for programs to achieve accreditation status, a status required for program graduates’ eligibility to sit for the national licensure examination and become a licensed physical therapy practitioner.
