With 15-plus years of experience in residential education and part of the CMU community since 2005, David serves as the college liaison for the Schools of Music and Art and CFA transitional. His favorite part of his job is hearing residents’ stories and supporting them through their CMU journey. With a background in creative writing and theatre and a Master’s degree in higher education administration, he infuses his work with humor, humanity, and humility. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, riding and repairing vintage scooters, listening to baseball games, and sharing all that happens at CMU with his wife, two kids, and dog.

Kaitlyn serves as the Housefellow for Forbes Beeler Apartments. Kaitlyn received her bachelor's degree in music education as a vocal major and master's degree in college counseling at PennWest Edinboro (previously Edinboro University of Pennsylvania). In her free time, Kaitlyn enjoys listening to and performing music, streaming shows and podcasts, reading, struggling to play video games, and hanging out with her husband along with their two dogs (Delilah and Luna) and cat (Dolly Purton).

Nikki serves as the housefellow for the Fairfax Apartments. She completed her undergraduate degree in music education at Temple University and graduate degree in educational leadership at Penn State University. After teaching in Philadelphia schools, Nikki served as a supervisor in residence life at Milton Hershey School and earned her Pennsylvania School Principal's certification. In her free time, Nikki loves to explore the city, spend time with friends and family, tend to her plants, and find creative outlets.

Athena is the Residential Education coordinator and housefellow for Mudge. She graduated with a degree in psychology and philosophy from Thiel College in 2018 and received her master's degree in higher education administration and student affairs from Kent State University in 2020. She has two cats and enjoys exploring new restaurants and coffee shops with her partner, practicing yoga and spending time outside.

Alicia serves as the housefellow for Morewood Gardens. Originally from Wichita, Kansas, Alicia received her master's in public administration from Wichita State University. Her bachelor's degree from The University of Chicago is in anthropology and Latin American Caribbean studies. In her free time, she enjoys all things related to the fine arts, trying different restaurants, and taking piano lessons.

Originally from New York City, The Bronx, Jarrin completed his undergraduate degree and a graduate degree in Political Science and Student Affairs in Higher Education respectively at the State University of New York College at Plattsburgh. Jarrin comes from Juniata College where he was an Area Coordinator and First-Generation specialist before transitioning to Carnegie Mellon’s Office of Community Standards & Integrity as a Coordinator for Community Standards & Integrity and a Housefellow.
As a housefellow, Jarrin oversees the Fifth Neville Apartments. In addition to being a Coordinator for the Office of Community Standards and Integrity and a Housefellow, Jarrin is the Academic Integrity Liaison to Heinz College and the Tepper School of Business. In his spare time, Jarrin enjoys traveling, spending time with friends and his cat, exploring Pittsburgh, and experimenting with photography.

Kristine Kengor

Kristine Kengor is the Housefellow for Stever House and the College Liaison for undergraduate students in the School of Computer Science. Kristine has worked with first-year students since she arrived on campus in 2011 and now focuses her work on the first-year experience. You can often see Kristine walking around campus and in Pittsburgh with her two retired racing greyhounds, James and Bomber.

Bryan has been working with residential students at Carnegie Mellon since 2010. In addition to being the Housefellow for West Wing, he also leads a team that is focused on student support resources out of the Office of the Dean of Students. Bryan completed his undergraduate studies and his master’s in higher education from Penn State University, and his doctorate in higher education administration from George Washington University. Out of the office, he is likely listening to podcasts, perfecting a new barbecue recipe, or taking in all that Pittsburgh has to offer with his spouse Laura.

Matt Kwiatkowski supports the residential experience primarily in the Margaret Morrison Street Neighborhood as an associate director for residential education and a housefellow. A western Pennsylvania native, Matt has worked in residential education for more than a decade at other institutions in Ohio, Texas, and Virginia before coming back home. In his free time, Matt enjoys exploring Pittsburgh, traveling to see family and friends, and hikes through the city parks.

He completed his MBA at Kennesaw State University prior to working at Florida International University and the University of Pittsburgh in residence life. He enjoys working out, exploring the city, and hanging out with his mini Bernedoodle Chewbacca.

Tera Monroe, a dedicated professional in student affairs for over 25 years, joined the Tartan community in spring 2020. As the Associate Dean for Student Affairs and Director of Residential Education at Carnegie Mellon, she leads the Residential Education and Housefellow teams, creating a dynamic residential experience across the 36 residential house communities at Carnegie Mellon. Tera’s passion lies in fostering vibrant, inclusive communities where students thrive personally, academically, and socially. In her work Tera promotes a culture of collaboration that is centered on building relationships to help students and staff to grow, learn and leverage their strengths and talents. Tera holds a Master of Education in College Student Personnel from Western Illinois University and a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Animal Sciences. Tera also serves as the Student Affairs Liaison for Dietrich College and is the primary liaison for campus exchange students from Carnegie Mellon’s Qatar campus. Beyond work, she enjoys spending time with her family and being a spirited hockey and soccer mom.

Originally from Harare, Zimbabwe, Tendai completed her Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in French Studies at Fairmont State University. Tendai also has a Master’s degree in College Student Affairs Administration from the University of West Florida and a Master’s degree in Adult Learning and Development from Cleveland State University. Tendai comes from the University of North Florida where she was an Assistant Residence Life Coordinator before transitioning to Carnegie Mellon’s Office of Community Standards & Integrity as a Coordinator for Community Standards & Integrity and a Housefellow.
As a housefellow, Tendai oversees the Intersection community which is made up of the Woodlawn Apartments, Roselawn Terrace, and Margaret Morrison Apartments. Tendai has additional responsibilities as the Academic Integrity Liaison to the College of Engineering. In her spare time, Tendai enjoys cooking, watching NBA basketball games, and spending time with family & friends.

Zachary serves as the housefellow for the Fifth and Clyde community. He completed his undergraduate degree in multidisciplinary studies at Millersville University. While working as a resident director at Radford University, he completed his Master of Science in strategic communication. Zachary enjoys watching movies, traveling, and hanging out with his wife along with their various pets (currently one dog and three bunnies).

She completed her bachelor’s degree in secondary English education and her master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling at California University of Pennsylvania. After serving universities in North Carolina for a few years, Shauna is excited to be back in Pittsburgh to be closer to family. In her free time, she enjoys reading, baking, hiking, traveling, and caring for her cat, Penny.
