Academic advising is an essential part of student success at College of DuPage. Our full-time advisors offer personalized, proactive support guiding students throughout their academic journey.
Each semester, you will meet with your advisor to receive assistance with:
- Course Selection and Academic Planning: Advisors help students choose courses that align with degree requirements, interests, and career goals.
- Essential Academic Information: Advisors assist students in understanding the curriculum, graduation requirements, and prerequisites for their chosen field of study.
- Goal Setting - Advisors help students identify and establish both short-term and long-term academic goals, while also supporting them in developing an educational plan to reach those goals.
- Navigating Institutional Resources - Advisors can provide information and referrals to student support resources, making college a more manageable, less stressful experience.
- Overcoming Academic Challenges – Advisors can discuss any academic difficulties you may be facing and assist you in developing strategies to overcome them.
As part of academic advising, Transfer Services provides support with your transfer plans, including helping you research colleges and universities.
