Her father was a famous nonfiction filmmaker, and her mother was a journalist also managing her own PR agency.
Victoria graduated from Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU) with a master degree in journalism and political PR. She worked for several Russian federal newspapers as an editor, as well as a correspondent for American and European magazines. Victoria is known for her investigative reports from hot spots, including Kosovo and Georgia.
Back in Russia, she is also famous for her women rights social work and her own journalist classes.
Once Victoria moved to the United States, she became a freelance translator and community activist in her neighborhood in New York, New York. She runs her own website about family travelling across America, both in Russian and English.
Victoria Averbukh is a member of International Federation of Journalists and a recipient of numerous honors, including the main award of Union of Russian Journalists.view less
