Ballet of Eyelids
Theme One
Shy notes upon rivers sent as the swans of words,
flowing themes in dots sounding of stillness white.
Such swans are, always bowing to my fallen skylight.
Contrite as the wink of wings
Michelangelo’s ever longings
for letters washed in holy water to never miss
their very purpose of sounding as the amaranthine grace,
returned the Renaissance to our chance.
Then, when You danced under my closed chagrin
composing it into Ballet of our Eyelids,
for the one who whispered to the ears of life’s fancies,
trembling of
