Your fake made up martial arts training is rather evident when people actually see you move.

Introduction.
Thank you for buying my book. I am Grand Master Thomas Daw, I own and run martial arts clubs online for a hobby. I have written many books, and believe that any decent martial artist should share their knowledge and their views with anyone who wants to learn. The clubs I run specialise in home study courses, they are the MFMA, the SFKF and the GSA. The MFMA is my biggest club, formerly the Masters of Freestyle Martial Arts Society, now known as Made for Martial Arts. The SFKF is the Snake Fist Karate Federation, literally the nearest you will get to the Cobra Kai, which I designed in 2020. The GSA is the Global Shorinkenjitsu Academy, Shorinkenjitsu being a blend of Shorin Ryu, American Kenpo and Jujitsu.
You must understand before you read this book, that I am known for telling the truth, as much as I am for being good at martial arts. I have nobody paying me to spin yarns and tell lies, unlike online trolls. I tell it like it is, and often refuse to pick sides in these online bust-ups between so-called martial artists.
I am not some great superhero, but I am one of the top martial artists alive, known by the Police, who even took my side against the trolls online. In this book, I will not be using my chance to create as an opportunity to be as horrible as possible; bear in mind I could. I will tell things as I have seen and experienced them. I don’t expect everyone to agree with me 100% on any topic related to martial arts, as most people will never reach my level, so they cannot understand the truth. Often, part of being a great martial artist is admitting you don’t know everything, and accepting that you are only human.
Yes, in this book the gloves are off, and I will be writing from my side of events. I am far too advanced in my martial arts to care about offending people. But there is no doubt that I may remove about 200 expletives before I decide to have this work published. Some people will be upset with this book, some will shake their heads. But the real martial arts experts will get angry, or emotional maybe, then re-read the book, and see that it all makes perfect sense.
I could use as many big words as possible and try to pass myself off as some kind of secret agent- but why bother? I am just a man who enjoys doing martial arts, and teaching via my home study courses. There is no big mystery behind my life and what I do. I don’t over-complicate things, because that is not what Grand Masters do. Expert martial artists try and simplify, and make lessons and learning seem effortless, whereas beginners in martial arts often quit, because they over-complicate things.
I am no rich millionaire, but in martial arts terms, I am a very rich man. I have access to styles many don’t believe exist, or just don’t know about- hidden treasures that come alive again, with training. I am not writing to fulfil a book publishing contract, but rather for the thrill and privilege of being able to do so.
Many people in martial arts are fantastic at what they do, but they are no good at teaching, sharing their knowledge. Too many people have dedicated their lives to learning martial arts, and have given nothing back to the martial arts community. My martial arts courses, my clubs, and my books such as this one, are my contribution to the martial arts community, worldwide. You may be a world champion, with all the medals and stories, but have you shared your story? Have you shared your knowledge? Why not?
I don’t teach people how to live their lives: I teach martial arts to anyone who wishes to learn from me. How you choose to live your life is up to you, wherever you come from. The greatest advice I can give anyone is to live their life. Don’t wait until next year to write that book or do that thing that’s been on the back of your mind for weeks- do it now. Tomorrow is not guaranteed. I hope you enjoy this book.
Regards,
Grand Master Daw.
You Can’t Believe It? Neither Can I Sometimes.
Many people have never heard of me, and that is an advantage in the martial arts world. Yes, sometimes I dream about being rich and famous, but I am just a simple man who likes martial arts. Simple, until it comes to martial arts, that is. I won’t keep repeating myself, but great martial arts teachers do, so you might get some overlap in this book.
The first thing I have to write is that my entire story is true, in this book, and in every other book I have written. I don’t give a damn what anyone else thinks, as none of these people know me, nor have they trained with me. I believe that no matter who you are or where you come from, the most important thing in martial arts is the training itself.
Lots of people have written all kinds of crap about me, and yet surprise surprise, not one of these people have ever met me. The more important point I have to make, is that none of the people who make up lies about me online practice martial arts in real life.
I am not rich and famous, no celebrity status at all- that’s nonsense. I can guarantee that if I was a star, I would still be training and probably the most down-to-earth Grand Master you will ever meet. Having a huge ego never got anyone anywhere, did it? You have to understand that sometimes I cannot believe that complete strangers are even writing about me. What is the point? Why lie to yourselves?
Yes, it’s all true, everything I have said I’ve done in martial arts, and a heck of a lot more. I have nothing to gain by telling lies to people. I have created more styles of martial arts than any other man who ever lived on this earth. I can punch better than practically any man alive, and have been Grand Master since 28. None of these achievements I have, and the certificates, are anywhere near as important as the training itself. I could give you a 9th Dan right now, but if you don’t know the style, what is the point of a belt and certificate?
My story is not especially remarkable. I am just another one of millions of lonely men in the world. But I never chose to become a drug dealer, a murderer or a rapist. I never stole anything worth a bean, fired guns at anyone or killed anybody. I have no criminal record, no gang affiliations and no secret agenda, with anyone or anything. I actively went out of my way to become a martial arts expert. I had no peer pressure as a kid to become a martial artist, no martial arts family and no reason to train, other than it is what I wanted to do.
I was 6 years old in 1988 and saw boxers on TV- I thought they were crap. Surely human beings can do more than just a half dozen clumsy punches? And in the next couple of years, I had seen Bruce Lee and other martial arts films- Bruce and the others were doing what I thought people should be capable of, even though I was a young child. I never wanted to be Bruce Lee, but he was definitely an influence.
I did Taekwondo in a couple of different clubs, and Kung Fu in different clubs as well. I also did Tai Chi at University, and a ton of martial arts courses at home. I can say that I am one of the few who could physically show you the differences between many styles, as I have trained in them for years: I wouldn’t have to go on Wikipedia or similar to find out about them.
I did go out and get some women, drink too many beers and all the usual stuff young men do. But martial arts were always there for me. I know I can sit and play Nintendo with the best of them. I know I could be the fattest man
