INTRODUCTION.
Hello and thank you for buying this book. I am Grand Master Thomas Daw, I own and run the MFMA, SFKF and GSA clubs. This book contains more of my views concerning martial arts. At times I may rant and seem aggressive, but I mean no harm. The duty of the Grand Master is to get the point across, and often say what many others don’t have the guts to say.
I live in Cornwall and I teach martial arts via home study video courses. I probably have more video courses than any other man in the UK, but I am not one to rest on my laurels. I don’t have to write books, teach martial arts with videos or do anything, but I choose to do so, whilst I still have the ability.
In the martial arts world, there is so much take and not enough give. My martial arts clubs are an unparalleled contribution to the martial arts community worldwide. The way I see my entire martial arts life is as any expert or Grand Master should see things. If I teach just one person whilst I am alive, and they both learn and benefit from my courses, then I have done a good thing. Having power and skills is useless if they are not put to good use.
With my books, they are non-chronological. I dislike books whereby you have to have the entire collection for anything to make sense. I write for anyone to pick up, learn some great info quickly and get on with their lives. My books are intended for anyone who likes martial arts, beginners and experts alike. Whilst I appreciate that experts in other styles may already know most of the knowledge in my books, there are millions of people who could change their lives and become empowered, just by reading one of them. Not everyone is a martial arts expert.
I am a great martial artist and martial arts teacher, and it is a joy to have students worldwide. If you continue to train hard in martial arts, and you know it is something you love doing, keep up the good work. The sky is the limit for positive people who believe in themselves. Sure, we all have bad days and circumstances beyond our control, but the name of the game is to try and have as many good days as possible.
Let the idiots who think they’re tough, the bullies and the online trolls all die in a heap. This book, and practically everything in martial arts I did, is for those with the intelligence to realise that they can improve and learn great skills, if they can be bothered to try a little.
No matter who we are or our history, we can all be better than we used to be, can’t we? Perfection is unrealistic, but making each year better than the last is something we can all work with. It’s all well and good believing in yourself and having dreams, but have you worked on any of those dreams, to try and make them real? I have worked incredibly hard in my life, making my dreams a reality, and you reading this book is living proof.
I hope you enjoy the book, and if so, why not try one of my other books, available at the MFMA website? All are welcome to join me in the MFMA.

TELL ME MORE ABOUT THE MFMA AND YOUR OTHER CLUBS.
In this chapter, I will be writing everything about my martial arts clubs. I am no rich man nor celebrity, but I run my martial arts clubs for a hobby. My martial arts clubs are the MFMA, the GSA and the SFKF.
The MFMA was originally the Masters of Freestyle Martial Arts Society, and more recently it has become Made for Martial Arts. The MFMA was created in 2013, with me being chosen by Brett Ernest, former Grand Master of the SKKA and creator of several martial arts and courses. Brett Ernest emailed me one day and asked me if I would like to team up with him and start something global: I jumped at the chance. Almost immediately after Brett and I started work on MFMA, he left and I think got a new job with more responsibility. I am not sure if Brett Ernest does martial arts anymore, but there are no hard feelings.
Every so often, between 2013 and 2014, I emailed Brett to see if things were okay: he never answered me once. I was more than fair, and after a year I emailed him saying I was going to take over. Brett created the original logo and a basic website, but I did everything else. After I kicked Brett out and took over, I seriously went hardcore into the martial arts, creating more styles than I thought possible. To this day the MFMA and my other clubs are a hobby, and I am not in competition with anyone else in the home study martial arts world. How can anyone compete with me, when I created my own styles, and forms that make many pre-existing styles seem inferior?
I could have produced a few courses, then given up on martial arts and the MFMA altogether, like many others before me. But I had been given an opportunity, and could not continue living, constantly wondering what might have happened, had I made a go of the MFMA and all this martial arts stuff: it would have driven me even more crazy than I already am.
A society is a group of individuals, and all levels of ability are welcome to join the fun at the MFMA. The goal of the MFMA is to enable anyone to learn martial arts for self-defence, at an easily affordable price. No doubt you will see other martial arts clubs online, demanding outrageous sums for courses that are not effective, when applied on the streets. MFMA has no competition, and is recognised worldwide as one of the best martial arts clubs in the business.
Many MFMA students live in remote areas, and so the nearest Dojo is two hour’s drive away, or even more. Other MFMA students are not martial artists, but they love martial arts and simply join to belong, and why not? Many experts in martial arts are already enrolled on an MFMA program, and with the MFMA, there is something for everyone. Some students have disorders, disabilities or exhibit behaviours that challenge: local Dojos reject them, whereas MFMA treats them as equals. The MFMA eliminates the feelings of bullying, anxiety, rivalry and fears that many traditional Dojos exhibit in droves.
The beauty of the MFMA is that nothing is wasted. Regarding MFMA styles, there is nothing that you will learn that cannot be used in combat. Learn from a champion, a role model, a true Grand Master with no equal. I know that other clubs online are a rip-off, which is why I charge as little as possible: it is the done thing amongst experts to offer value for money. In the MFMA, you don't get some idiot taking 20 minutes to explain how to do a basic punch. In 20 minutes, I can teach you more than most ever could in martial arts.
Learn martial arts from home. No pressure. No time limits on gradings. FREE video testing. The MFMA courses are like having a Grand Master in your house. In real Dojos, Grand Masters have little time to teach everyone individually, whereas with the MFMA courses, it is one-to- one tuition. Trust me, if you like martial arts, you cannot fail with the MFMA. MFMA is even linked with the infamous Black Dragon Fighting Society, the best in the martial arts world.
Some people are experts in martial arts, and want to jump straight into the deep end. That's great. The MFMA has an Elite level membership, perfect for all experts in martial arts. Elite level members get all the best deals and updates; no student is left behind. Are you interested in joining the best of the best?
Anyone over 18 in the world can join me in the MFMA. I have so many courses, I even get experts in martial arts joining sometimes, looking to learn something new: and they are all welcome. We are a good group in the MFMA, and we can only get bigger and better.
THE SNAKE FIST KARATE FEDERATION: THE REAL COBRA KAI?
The Snake Fist Karate Federation is the real Cobra Kai. Straight from sunny California, SFKF is the nearest you will ever get to the Cobra Kai in real life. Sensei Brett Ernest created Snake Fist Karate decades ago, and was teaching in California. I was given 8th Dan for my work and outstanding contribution to Snake Fist Karate, way back in 2010. Out of respect, I didn't even claim 8th Dan until I felt ready to move up, almost two years later; who does that?
I created the SFKF in 2020 in order to unite all students of Snake Fist Karate worldwide. This is not some scam or rip-off of the Cobra Kai fictional Dojos: this is a real martial arts club. As with the MFMA, everyone is welcome in the SFKF, even those who are not active students of Snake Fist Karate.
Members of the SFKF will get freebies at the members only website, and will be able to learn Snake Fist Karate at a fraction of the cost of anywhere else on earth. Seriously, as a member of SFKF, you could get to black belt for less than the price of a meal out.
When it comes to Snake Fist Karate, the SFKF is the place to be. I am the only student of Snake Fist Karate who has permission from Brett Ernest to expand on Snake Fist.
Snake Fist Karate is a simple yet incredibly powerful martial art. I have studied many styles before, and none of them combined have half the hand skills of Snake Fist Karate. I used my knowledge and training in other styles to amplify
