      A Big Surprise

      I love playing with my big sister, climbing trees in our backyard, and making up funny stories. But the most exciting story of all started on a sunny afternoon when Mom and Dad called me and my big sister into the living room.

      They both had huge smiles on their faces, the kind that make you think something really exciting is about to happen. Mom had her hands on her belly, and Dad had this twinkle in his eye. I was curious and a little bit nervous. What could it be?

      Girls, Mom started, her voice all bubbly and happy, we have some wonderful news to share with you.

      I looked at my big sister. She seemed to already know something, but I was clueless. What is it, Mom? Tell us! I bounced up and down on the couch, unable to contain my excitement.

      Dad chuckled and knelt down to our level. You're going to have a baby sister! he announced, spreading his arms wide like he was about to give us the biggest hug ever.
