I’m publishing the nominations list tomorrow morning, and you’ll immediately be able to vote for winners. For the first time the top five categories will be decided by preferential ballot where you’ll rank your top three favorite choices.
And now, a few blind items to whet your appetites
** One artist cracked double digits with their nominations total
** The most nominated song of the year has five bids
** The most nominated male artist of the year didn’t even have a new album out.
** One artist is nominated in four general categories, including Artist of the Year, but no genre categories.
** One artist is nominated across three genres, which I believe is a first.

My guesses:
– Beyoncé will be the most nominated with 10 slots, including Best Rap Song and R&B Song. And she will have two country songs nominated (TH’E and 16C). She becomes the first artist in Gold Derby to reach three genres.
– Die With a Smile will likely enter ROTY, SOTY, Best Collaboration, Best Video and Pop Song.
– Easily between Kendrick and Bruno, the former with nominations in ArOTY, SOTY, ROTY and two rap categories. If he gets Best Video he will have 6 slots. What’s really interesting is that Post Malone doesn’t beat those numbers being basically a lock in the country categories and by Fortnight, something tells me he either lost Best Country Song or (dramatic twist) for the first time in history Taylor won’t be present in ROTY or SOTY.
– Probably Dua Lipa, seeing the support for all the other popstars.

November 6, 2024 at 2:04 am #1206006180– I’m guessing Taylor Swift is double digits, but I could see it being Charli XCX
– Fortnight in Record, Song, Pop Song, Music Video, and Collaboration
– Kendrick Lamar most nominated male
– Probably Dua Lipa nominated in general field but not genre, but could see it being Chapell Roan
– Beyoncé makes country, rap, and r&b

– beyonce’s the double digit artist. don’t see taylor or chappell being it since their stuff was only included in the gf and also a single genre (speaking of which, bey will also be the artist with noms across 3 different fields).
– most nominated song is “fortnight”. it’s getting in roty, soty, collaboration, bmv, and pop song. not sure if “die with a smile” will get in that fourth category.
– kendrick is the most nominated male. he’s getting in aroty, roty, soty, bmv, and rap artist, as well as double rap song noms for “not like us” and “like that”.
– dua’s probably the artist with gf noms and yet none in genre. and lemme just say this : “houdini” in roty and soty would be VERY deserved.

1. One artist cracked double digits with their nominations total
2. The most nominated song of the year has five bids
3. The most nominated male artist of the year didn’t even have a new album out.
4. One artist is nominated in four general categories, including Artist of the Year, but no genre categories.
5.One artist is nominated across three genres, which I believe is a first.
1. Sabrina Carpenter – pop categories, GF categories, and BNA
2. Die with A Smile, Fortnight, or Not Like Us
3. Kendrick Lamar
4. Beyonce – it’s no surprise that the country music scene have no issues snubbing her. She can still get in for R&B and Rap but I’m not 100% sold on it.
5. Billie Eilish
