Courtesy of Mail Online (via SFFGazette.com), we have a first look at Twisters star Glen Powell as The Running Man's Ben Richards. The character was originally played by Arnold Schwarzenegger in the 1987 classic which, like this movie, is based on the Stephen King novel of the same name.
Scott Pilgrim vs. the World director Edgar Wright helms this new take which has assembled an impressive cast including Josh Brolin, Lee Pace, Katy O'Brian, Emilia Jones, and Michael Cera. None of them were present on set (at least not yet).

Glen Powell, known for his role in ‘Twisters’, has been seen on set as Ben Richards, a character famously portrayed by Arnold Schwarzenegger in the original 1987 film ‘The Running Man’, based on Stephen King‘s novel.
The upcoming remake, directed by Edgar Wright, promises an exciting new take with an ensemble cast including Emilia Jones, Michael Cera, Lee Pace, Katy O’Brian, and Josh Brolin, though they haven’t been spotted on location yet.
In a recent peek at London’s Battersea Power Station, courtesy of Mail Online, Powell’s outfit throws us back to the 80s.
The set buzzes with the vibe of that era, from cars to the uniformed guards that hint at the movie’s dystopian setting where reality TV pushes contestants to risk their lives for a shot at incredible wealth.
Adding to the intrigue, photos show a mysterious masked figure in mid-action, identity unknown. This hints...

Back in the 80s, Stephen King adaptations ruled the theaters. You could barely go a few months without hearing about a new film that was coming out. One that many would be surprised to find out was a King adaptation would be the testosterone-infused murder game show The Running Man. Released under King’s pseudonym, Richard Bachman, the book was hardly a hit. Once King was outed as the author, sales went through the roof. Hollywood came calling. With King being popular once again, another adaptation of the book is in the making.
What’s It About?
In the 80s adaptation, Arnold Schwarzenegger stars as a wrongfully convicted police officer. He gets a chance at freedom if he can survive the game show The Running Man. Of course, the game is rigged so that no one ever wins, but this time is different. They don’t know who they are messing with.

For today’s Gen-z kids, The Big Bang Theory and Friends might be some of the shows that they feel are iconic. But long back in the 80s, aired a show that changed the definition of sitcoms and grew a massive fan base across the US.
Yes, we are talking about NBC’s Cheers, which ran successfully from 1982 until its series finale in 1993. Critically acclaimed and loved by many during its original run, the series is one of the best sitcoms.
Cheers is hilarious, intelligent, fast-paced, heartfelt, peopled by unforgettable characters, and consistently good. The story revolves around a Boston bar, owned by Sam Malone (Ted Danson), a former relief pitcher, and has several other main characters, who either work in the bar or visit it regularly.
Decades later after its final run, let’s take a look at where some of the Cheers‘ major cast members are now!

Considering that so many sitcom contemporaries of Gilligan’s Island — The Brady Bunch, Bewitched, Beverly Hillbillies, Get Smart, The Addams Family — were made into feature films, it’s kinda weird that the show’s exotic locales and inherent live-or-die stakes didn’t get the same treatment. As it turns out, it wasn’t for lack of trying.
There have been multiple attempts to bring Gilligan and pals to the big screen, but like the S.S. Minnow, every one of them crashed into the rocks. For example, when the show’s creator, Sherwood Schwartz, was inducted into the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences’ Hall of Fame in 2008, he announced that he and his son Lloyd had just inked a deal for a Gilligan’s Island feature film. The agreement “just happened in the last 48 hours,” Schwartz told TV Guide. “I can’t take this much excitement at my age.”

"This may be their last... Christmas Eve in Miller's Point. So it's time to make this one count." IFC Films has revealed the official trailer for an indie ensemble comedy non-narrative film called Christmas Eve in Miller's Point, a sort of vintage, nostalgic trip back in time to an awkward Christmas Eve. This premiered in the Directors' Fortnight sidebar at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival back in May, and opens in US theaters starting in November this fall. On Christmas Eve, a rambunctious extended family gathers for what could be the last holiday in their ancestral home. As the night wears on and generational tensions arise, one of the teens sneaks out with her friends to claim the wintry suburb for her own. The cast includes Michael Cera, Elsie Fisher, Maria Dizzia, Gregg Turkington, Matilda Fleming, Lev Cameron, Ben Shenkman, and Sawyer Spielberg. Yes it has a cast of famous youngsters,...

Sherwood Schwartz's 1964 sitcom "Gilligan's Island" was a pop-cultural powerhouse, attracting a mass audience larger than any of the CBS executives expected. While many critics and audience members criticized the show for being silly, unrealistic, and simplistic, it nonetheless lasted for three hit seasons, and was put into eternal syndication, staying alive in reruns for decades. What's more, the series warranted numerous TV movie sequels and spinoffs, including a 1981 TV movie wherein Gilligan (Bob Denver) and the other castaways met the Harlem Globetrotters -- called, helpfully, "The Harlem Globetrotters on Gilligan's Island" -- and an animated series wherein the castaways became stranded on a distant planet (!). Yes, "Gilligan's Planet" is a thing.
The spinoffs retained all the original cast members, with the exception of Tina Louise, whose character, Ginger, was played by various other actors. Curiously, the Globetrotters movie was the last time an original "Gilligan's Island" project graced the screen.

It’s October now, which means that the temporary haunted house business is in full swing. If you’re not interested in exploring the monster-filled dreamscape of the dude from Fever Pitch, there’s always Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights. The popular annual attraction features various spooky mazes inspired by movies and TV shows including A Quiet Place, Insidious and Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, which may or may not end with a scare actor dressed as Dan Aykroyd popping out of a wall and forcing you to buy his vodka.
The event rarely takes inspiration from comedies, but in 2015, Universal unveiled a haunted maze based on a Seth Rogen movie. While one could argue that The Green Hornet is Rogen’s most horrifying work to date, the maze was actually themed around This Is the End.

The film is coming off of its premiere as the opening film of the Toronto Film Festival, where it sold to Hulu for eight figures, in the first splashy deal of the fest. Also starring Linda Cardellini, Edi Patterson, Tim Heidecker and Toby Hussles, pic is produced by Rivulet’s Rob Paris and Mike Witherill, and Rough House’s Nate Meyer.

Deadline’s Crew Call continues its spotlight on the revolutionaries of social media who are impacting the film and TV industry with Gen-z mom vlogger-turned-absurdist online talk show host Bobbi Althoff.
Similar to our previous social media guests — actor/comedic performer Adam Rose and teen K-drama series Alan’s Universe architect and star Alan Chikin Chow — Althoff is burning a trail for herself in the entertainment industry and leading her own burgeoning empire of brand endorsements and more at a time when the film and TV spheres are undergoing contraction and confusion about what consumers crave.
For Althoff, host and creator of The Really Good Podcast, pop culture is still the rage for many; it’s just how you harness it. Her deadpan talk show style, unprepared host styling and fearless demeanor to call guests out on their sh*t has lassoed her 13 million followers across social media, regularly topping the podcast charts,...

After starring as Johnny Storm in Fantastic Four and before stealing our hearts as Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Chris Evans played a role in yet another film adapted from comic books – Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. However, instead of his usual hero roles, the actor played one of the seven villains in the film – Lucas Lee.
Chris Evans as Lucas Lee in Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World | Universal Pictures
Lucas Lee plays a stereotypical Hollywood actor who basically seems like a total douchebag. Anyone who has seen Chris Evans outside of his reel life, perhaps in the countless interviews he has done, would vouch for the fact that the guy is an absolute ball of joy. So, how did he play Lucas Lee to such perfection? Even he was confused when he got compliments on nailing the role!

Amy Schumer’s Life & Beth is no longer.
Hulu has canceled the dramedy after two seasons. The move is not a huge surprise as the second season finished in February, and while Hulu obviously didn’t release any viewing data, it failed to crack Nielsen’s streaming list.
Written, directed, executive produced and starring Schumer, Life & Beth follows Beth (Schumer), whose life looks pretty great on paper. Impressive to everyone she grew up with, she makes a good living as a wine distributor. She’s in a long-term relationship with an attractive, successful guy and lives in Manhattan. But when a sudden incident forces her to engage with her past, her life changes forever.

It’s the end of the line for Life & Beth.
Hulu has canceled the dramedy, created by and starring Amy Schumer, after two seasons. The second (and now final) installment of the show debuted on the Disney-owned streamer in February.
The series follows Beth (Schumer), a woman with “a cool job, a great apartment” and a boyfriend (Kevin Kane) “who’s a New York eight,” as she says in the show’s first episode, who comes to realize how dissatisfied she is with her life. Is there anything Maya Rudolph can’t do? It’s a serious question, as the comedy superstar reigns as this year’s Emmy nominations Mvp. Rudolph earned four nominations — a stunning achievement in itself, but made even more impressive because those nods come from three different programs. She’s nominated in comedy lead actress for Apple TV+’s “Loot” (just renewed for a third season), in character voice-over for her role as Connie the Hormone Monstress in Netflix’s animated “Big Mouth,” and in comedy guest actress for her hosting stint on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” (which also got her an original music and lyrics nod for her monologue tune).
It’s quite a year for Emmy overachievers. Several acting stars also landed writing noms, like Quinta Brunson (“Abbott Elementary”), Richard Gadd (“Baby Reindeer”) and Donald Glover (“Mr. & Mrs. Smith”). Others nominated thesps are also producers on their nominated best series.

Gen X kids grew up with a steady after-school diet of Gilligan’s Island, a show that, despite its pop-culture ubiquity, only lasted three seasons. Maybe that was because there were only so many ways for seven castaways to try (and fail) to escape a desert island. But the show’s producer, Sherwood Schwartz, foresaw that shortcoming and had plans to mix it up if the show continued to get renewed.
Only one more season of being stranded was the plan, Schwartz told the Muncie Evening News via MeTV. “I hoped from the outset that the show would go for four years with them on the island,” he explained. “But I’ve had a projected escape in the back of my mind.”
Schwartz’s bonkers plan sounds like a cross between Fantasy Island and White Lotus. “Should they get rescued, or should the ratings go down, or should we feel...

I’ll never forget the first time I saw Sausage Party. I loved every crude minute of that animated comedy. Seth Rogen, Kristen Wiig, Michael Cera, and crew took food to a whole new level. And now, you may have caught some of the eight episode event, Sausage Party: Foodtopia. Frankly, I dig the series more than the film! I love the additional cast that includes Edward Norton and the amazing Sam Richardson. Much like the movie, the series is crude, rude, and yet it’s suprisingly sweet.
Seth Rogen is the best. I love talking to this fine gentleman. And I feel the same about the incredible Kristen Wiig and Sam Richardson. All three are incredibly kind, and so damn funny. I was really happy to sit down with the three in-person. But where to begin? Well, I thought it would be fun to get right to it to the conversation.

Sausage Party: Foodtopia features a massive cast of A-listers featuring the voices of Kristen Wiig, Michael Cera, Edward Norton, and many more.
The new animated Amazon Prime Video series acts as the sequel to 2016's Sausage Party. It continues the misadventures of its food-based protagonists led by Seth Rogen's Frank as they navigate in a world where they successfully revolt against humanity.
Things take a turn for the worse, however, when they realize the difficulties of living in a world where humans are not the dominant species.

When the film Sausage Party was first announced way back in 2010, some journalists expressed scepticism that it was even real. Surely no studio would fund an R-rated feature film about animated talking food with graphic scenes of murder, violence and sex? But no. Sausage Party was very real, and if you don’t remember it from nearly a decade ago, it’s easy to feel like it was some sort of fever dream.
Like that original film, this eight-episode TV sequel — which sees much of the voice cast return, including Seth Rogen, Kristen Wiig, Michael Cera, David Krumholtz, and Edward Norton — is the sort of creation that does beggar belief. How did this even get made? That’s not even a quality assessment. It is just slightly mind-boggling that it exists. You will ponder this from Episode 1, when — in the aftermath of the food-human war,...

Eight years after the release of Sausage Party, Seth Rogen is revisiting the world of talking food with new series Sausage Party: Foodtopia.
The show follows up the war against humans that took place in the film, as hot dog Frank (voiced by Rogen, who is also an executive producer) and his grocery store friends establish a safe haven that quickly goes awry. Kristen Wiig, Michael Cera, David Krumholtz and Edward Norton reprise their voice roles, with Will Forte, Natasha Rothwell, Sam Richardson and Yassir Lester among the new additions.
“We always hoped to do more, honestly,” Rogen told The Hollywood Reporter at the Los Angeles premiere on Wednesday. “We kept thinking about it, we kept making jokes about it; it was a thing we kind of never stopped talking about and never stopped enjoying the idea of.”
Of opting to do a follow-up series rather than a sequel film,...
