First, this BBQ show was really good. I liked the format; three, four person teams. Also, how they pick the teams, after watching the contestants perform. The set was great also, both locations as they were set up pretty much the same way. Well laid out. And it was fun to see the camera crews in many of the shots, making it not so polished. Hey, it's an outdoor BBQ.
What I didn't like isn't much, but like others, Carson Kressley was a bad choice (honestly, I don't know if you have to put a gay element into every show now). He was okay the first season, but when he starts making inuendos about pen*s size, that's to much, and to many sexual inuendos. I wouldn't let my kids watch this... If I had any. Other than him, the other two judges were fantastic, some humor, but serious about what they were there for. Now, that said, it would be nice if Mr. Flay found some new friends. Every show of his has pretty much the same people. And like I said, they ALWAYS say the same stupid (scripted) thing. Every. Single. Show. "We are going to get BF, you're going down"! For my taste, the only one I really like is Michael Symon, works hard but brings good honest fun into it. Some are way to negative, which I am very tired of. Most are, lets just say, unpleasant, especially Sunny Anderson who is pretty much obnoxious every show she is on with Mr. Flay. Some of the decisions on winners and losers, IMO, were pre arranged (third season, it felt like you couldn't have three women in a row win so Winnie lost because of that). I noticed an ear piece in all the main characters, so...
Would I suggest this show to someone? Only if you're into BBQ or love Bobby Flay. Otherwise, no.
Thank you for your time.
