The challenge with remaking a perfect classic like Andhadhun is not in just finding the right balance between the various genres it encompassed, but also in casting the right actors who can emote well in both the harrowing drama sequences as well as the situational comedy.
DOP-turned director Ravi K Chandran unfortunately fails in doing just that. A more commercialized take of the 2018 National Award winning film, Bhramam's first glaring failure is casting Mamtha Mohandas in the role played by Tabu.
A Machiavellian, femme fatale role that needed a lot of nuance and fine tuned expressions, Mamtha unfortunately is not able to deliver most of the elements convincingly. Even Prithviraj, while shining in the dramatic elements, feels out of place in the comic sequences, a genre he has always struggled with.
For a film telling us the story of a seemingly blind musician, it is appalling that the music for the film is so pedestrian. Raashi Khanna is a major eyesore as Prithviraj's love interest.
She stumbles through a blink-and-miss role with haphazard lip synchronizations leaving us wondering why she was cast in the first place. Unni Mukundan is inadvertently funny in a beefed up cop role and delivers an adequate performance.
Remaking Andhadhun, which straddled the dark comedy and moral dilemma-laced drama genres so elegantly was always going to be a challenge. And Bhramam unfortunately couldn't rise up to meet it.
Not recommended!

Andhadhun is better than bhramam. Poor casting starting from mamtha to Ananya.
Direction wise poor. Only prithviraj, unnimukundan and jagadeesh justified the remake.

A haven't seen Andhadhun yet. Bramam was a dark comedy thriller which has a comic layer also. The main characters have both shades. I felt some logical issues too.
But the climax punch was missing.

Bhraman notably fails on casting.. While I think Prithviraj and Shankar pulled through however Mamta, Unni Mukundan and Rashi were poor choices. They didn't fit into the characters naturally to justify them.. Personally I think Asha Sharath (Drishyam fame) would have cracked this better..
There were gaps in Andhadhun's story telling which was gripping and left viewers second guessing.. Bhramam was almost like the tutorial class to the prequel. Too much clarification and explanations.. infact all my doubts from Hindi class got resolved after this.
Organ racketeers are brutal.. Jagadeesh was comical and sympathetic.. Worse part.. a Malayalam song in a Paris club sung by Prithviraj and some cheap foreigners for extras..

Bhramam is the remake version of hindi movie 'Andhadhun'. This is littley a fantasy movie. Logic thinking is not possible in this plot. Several scenes of this flick were gives laughing in our face. Prithviraj & Ananya act brilliantly in their comedy side. Mamtha acting comes equal to Tabu. We can seen a villain in her role. The second half of the movie is littley boring. It losses the first half's entertaining element. For a fresh ride, mallus try this movie without watching 'Andhadhun'.

Felt like a mediocre parody of Andhadhun made in some other language dubbed into Malayalam. It helped me to realise how good Andhadhun was.
This movie's concept and script is nice though. But the fact is that the original one is a 15 minute short story which added more stories and remaked as a Hindi movie which became a superhit. Then remaked to another languages also, now remaked to Malayalam, the fact is that Prithviraj Sir's acting is priceless but other cast and direction ruined the film, eagerly waited for the movie, but don't know why, direction killed it 🙂💔
Doesn't even deserve 1* Had started watching it with high expectations since the actors Where all quite old and established names.
The opening is not quite bad, but 25 mins into the movie you can clearly see the poor plot and even acting.
Don't know how these actors even agreed to go for such a poor script.

Bhramam is a Malayalam remake of the movie Andhadhun which was released in 2018. This is a movie that can be categorized as a dark comedy thriller. Prithviraj Sukumaran, Mamta Mohandas, Unni Mukundan, Shankar and Raashi Khanna have done well in their roles. Looking at the technical side of the film I can say no error. It has been remade without any mistakes like the original. This movie will not be a disappointment to those who have seen Andhadhun.

Maybe because everyone was already panning this film, or maybe because I've seen the disaster of the directorial debut of the director, I liked this film for what it is. As a remake, it failed from the get-go with the casting. Replacing Tabu is impossible but choosing someone as young as Mamta wasn't very smart but then Prithviraj who looks rough and tough in the place of Ayushman the sweet-looking guy was the worst combination of the main cast. Cementing that thought on how wrong the casting is from those who saw the movie made my expectation very low. Andhadhun was a pulpy movie that was elevated with the performances and direction. In the remake the small changes in the script made it lose a lot of nuances. The way it is shot and edited makes a lot of it a lot less impactful. But it seems that they knew they can't match the original and decided to make it a bit more funny which made it engaging enough for me.
Why does Rashi Khanna keep getting pretty good roles? She can't act, she just looks like a lifeless doll who's not even interesting to watch. And they aren't even showcasing her as an eye candy, then what exactly makes people think, she'd be good for these roles?

Now i can't even tolerate to see any andhadhun remake.. I can't believe that how many times!!
Original magic is unmatachable also no one can replace any twists.. I think original is the best among all.. So if anyone didn't see original then see it rather than this crap!

The movie was a good thriller movie but I didn't like the 'dark' side of the movie. I was expecting a little more. I didn't watch the original movie though, so can't compare with it.

Scenes and dialogues ditto copy of andhadhun. Why then remake? Acting of all not up to the mark. Unni and Jagadish Ok. Make different remake. Give better songs.

A remake that does not do justice to the original film. Malayalam movies have been remade and destroyed in Bollywood. But it is rare for a Bollywood film to be remade and destroyed in Malayalam.!

The movie pretends to be an adaptation of the original to malayalam, but in fact its just a copy and paste with a few changes in dialogues. Mamta's acting is horrible, even prithviraj is bad in some key scenes. Music is terrible for a movie revolving around a musician. So many subtleties of the original is lost due to poor acting.
Still 3 stars due to the original script which is amazing. Prithviraj is back to his money grubbing days.

Bhramam is a superb remake of Andhadhun. Casting ,Direction, songs all were brilliant. Much better than maestro. This movie had more humour and more colorfull than the original. Dont compare it to Andhadhun's brilliance, just take it as a new movie in Mollywood and enjoy it.
How ever jagdish has managed to do his carecter very well still poor casting, try to make movie bit humours but failed, overall very bad experience, it was an unexpected failure.

Bhramam is just an average movie, nothing new in the screenplay and the film is not that engaging and thrilling as compared to andhadhun.
Prithviraj has decently done his role, mamta had tried very hard..as her character was really done well by TABU.

I don't understand the point of a scene to scene remake.! N if anybody could have done better with this role it would have been Fahaad Fazil. He would have added a new dimension to this whole movie.! This was a role not really suited to Prithvi.
It's been along time since a full packed entertainer released .This film has covered all the portions like humor drama background score is one of the best I've heard from a while . It's perfectly paked entertainer.

The movie was not even close to the expectations. Casting (except Mamta) was not upto the mark. Anticipated more from Prithviraj and Jakes Bejoy.
