The Next Generation Leadership Academy
Our flagship, year-long Leadership Academy is the entry-point to Next Generation Learning for most school teams.
The UK Next Generation Leadership Academy (NxGLA) seeks leaders who understand that the educational system, originally designed for an Industrial Era, is no longer adequate in preparing students for a diverse, global economy.
We engage leaders at all levels to share innovative models and approaches for creating personalized systems of deeper learning
ChangeMakers
The University of Kentucky Center for Next Generation Leadership offers a ChangeMakers program as a rank change pathway that combines the best of job-embedded, high-quality professional learning with the expertise of research-based Next Generation practices. The UK Next Generation ChangeMakers is designed to support participants and teams as they experience, reflect, and grow professionally over the course of a great year of teaching and leading.
UK Dual Credit
Dual credit at the University of Kentucky is a formal partnership between two educational entities that allow for high school students in one school (or district) to enroll concurrently in a college course. Academic credit is awarded by both the high school and university. Leaders of both institutions must formally establish and approve the program before a student may be enrolled in a UK dual credit course. Since the 2017 spring term, UK has been participating in the Kentucky Dual Credit Scholarship Program. This Program is administered by the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority (KHEAA).
Professional Learning for Schools and Districts
Next Gen provides direct support to school and districts through custom professional development and leadership consulting. Each school's journey is different, we work hard to meet them where they are. From graduate profiles to competency education to STEM networks, we have specific expertise on elements of the future of public education. We help schools and districts make sense of these complex ideas and translate their knowledge into specific steps.
Academic Programs @ UK
As an element of the UK Department of Educational Leadership Studies, we integrate Next Gen into the Principal and Teacher Leadership programs. Online courses, onsite PD, and scholarships for most students.
