Congratulations to Alice K. DuVivier for being honored with The Charles Franklin Brooks Award for Outstanding Service to Society! ✨ Alice is a project scientist in CGD at NSF NCAR. 🌐 She is interested in the high-latitude connections and exchanges among the atmosphere, ocean, and sea ice components of the Earth system. 🌎 DuVivier uses climate models along with observations to investigate physical processes and their representation in models to better understand the resulting impacts on the climate system. ☀️ In particular, Alice studies the possible shifts in the polar regions due to the changing climate and how this will impact people living and working in these regions. 🌦️ She is being honored for her important contributions to the American Meteorological Society!

About us
The Climate and Global Dynamics Laboratory has a mission to discover the key processes in each component of the Earth's climate system and the interactions among them; represent this understanding in models and thereby provide a basis for prediction of climate; and apply this understanding and these models to scientific problems of societal relevance. We fulfill our mission through a strong record of achievement in scientific research, community modeling and data set development. Our success is due in large measure to numerous and diverse collaborations with other NCAR Laboratories, with the university community, with Government Laboratories, and increasingly with private industry.
