This candy is addictive! 🍓 | This candy is addictive! 🍓 #chocolate #candy #strawberries | By Kyle & Mistie Knight | And these are just saltine crackers. Just the saltine. Hm. Next, you need one cup of brown sugar packed. Then, you're going to take one stick of butter and melt that down with our brown sugar. You want to cook this for just a few minutes. You'll see it start to bubble up. That's what you want and you want to just have it thicken up and then it's ready to pour. And. Alright, it's nice and thick. That means it's ready to pour. And you're going to just take your spatula and spread that out so that it covers our crackers. I made another batch because I saw that I needed more. So, we're going to go ahead and add that as well. Pouring that on. And we're going to spread that out. Making sure that it covers all of our crackers. There you go. Now, we're going to take that and place it into the oven. It's preheated to 400 degrees. You're going to let this cook for about five to 7 minutes. When you see it start to bubble up, it's time to take it out. Don't forget about it. Alright, it's been about 5 minutes. It's all bubbly. That means it's time to come out. Very careful because it's hot. Alright. And you want it hot because next, you're going to top it some chocolate chips. Alright. So, we're going to go right on top and I'm going to use the whole bag. And that is what you want. Your chocolate chips will then melt really easily. It's really kind of fun to do. Look at that. And you have a layer of chocolate on top of your toffee layer Any more chocolate please? We're going to add some white chocolate chips as well. Sprinkle those on. And you don't have to use the whole bag on that but we're going to give that a chance to melt as well by popping this in the oven for just another one minute alright once our chocolate chips are slightly melted then we're going to add some strawberries strawberries there's some sliced strawberries ready to get that for you here they are strawberries boom now we're going to place those on top and if your chocolate is still warm, they will stick to our chocolate and then, we're going to pop that back into the fridge just for a short while for this to harden and then, it's going to be time to taste test. Alright, we've had this in the fridge for a couple hours. I'm excited to try it out and guess what? I remembered the parchment paper this time y'all. I made a similar candy in the past. I forgot the parchment paper. That was a disaster but not tonight but we still figure out how to get this out of there. I think you just flip it over on your hand. I don't know about that. You you did a thing just now. How alright. Shaking it. Look. See there's the parchment paper. Okay. Okay. Let me just get underneath this and lift it up. Okay. Here we go. Here we go. Here we go. Here we go. See? I'm getting it. Alright, now flip it over so we peel the paper off. Here we go. Alright. We're the fan. Peel the piper out. Let me see the bottom. Here's how the bottom looks. Smells good. Oh look at that. Alright. Alright. So look at that. Ain't that cool? It's just like one big chocolate bar. You've got the layer of saltines. Okay. With our toffee layer on top of that. And then a layer of chocolate then some white chocolate chips and our strawberries. And you know what you do next? You break it. Yeah you were supposed to break it but I didn't intend to break it like that. Okay. Alright. This is good. I'm ready for a taste test. Oh and there's one more important thing I forgot to tell y'all. With the strawberries. They were already sliced when you put them on. I took a paper towel and blotted them to get rid of the excess moisture. You're going to want to do that before you use them because otherwise it'll make them a little bit more soft and soggy. I'm keeping those strawberries firm. Just use a paper towel to get rid of some of that excess moisture. Okay. So you can just break this. Using your fingers. Like that. Okay. And then you have a beautiful candy. Look at that. Uh oh. Jack's just got a piece and that is not good because he should not be eating chocolate. But look at this. It's crack candy. Do you know why they call it crack candy? So many bad jokes are going through my mind right now. All I know is it's yummy. But you break it into pieces. And you crack it. Maybe that's it. Crack it. Maybe that's it. But look at that. That's a beautiful piece. This is a fun gift too. Kyle you're going to try this with me right in. Yep. Come on in. Alright. Grab one. Which one do you want? Alright here we go. Okay. Cheers. You lost the strawberries there. I would have never thought the the crust And this is so healthy because we got the strawberries in it as well, right? So you can get me in trouble. This is good. You're going to love this one.
