Julie • Movement & Life Coach on Instagram: "Headache relief and vagal reset @fitomizefitness These two points at the base of your skull can offer you some headache relief and give you a vagal break or reset. This point is known as GB 20. The point is located at the top of the sternocleidomastoid muscle which runs from the back of the head down to the front of the shoulders at the clavicle. Stimulation of this point will help relieve a headache, neck pain and shoulder tension. And, if you follow the gallbladder channel further down it’s pathway you’ll see that tension at this point is also related to low back pain, hip pain, and lateral leg pain. It’s really easy to apply pressure to Gallbladder 20 by grasping your own head and allowing your thumbs to fall into the point. Movement Vault on Instagram: "🧠 Instantly fix your brain crushing headaches - Here’s how ⬇️ You can see that you have a lot of muscles and nerves located on the back of your head and neck. These muscles and nerves can be contributing to your headaches. Studies have shown that performing a muscle and fascia release technique for suboccipital muscles located at the base of your skull and top of your neck can decrease and even completely fix certain types of headaches. I am going to teach you two different options. The first is using a tennis ball and is a gentler way to release the tension in these muscles. Place the ball at the base of your skull and slowly rotate your neck side to side and up and down. Make sure that the ball stays in the small space at the base of your skull. Dr. Joe Damiani - TMJ, Head & Neck Specialist on Instagram: "Do you experience persistent headaches and you also feel tension in the back of the neck and base of the skull? Well, you may be experiencing tightness from the neck which is compressing the nerves at the base of the skull producing suboccipital neuralgia, which is compression of the greater occipital nerve. These types of headaches can be persistent in the back of the head or the side of the head all the way to the eye. This is a great way to release those muscles and free up the space in the base of the skull to reduce headaches. #tensionheadache #headacherelief #migrainelife #cervicogenicheadache #tmjtreatment #tmjdisorder" Tmj Headache, Neck Headache, Reduce Headaches, Head Muscles, Migraine Help, Neck And Shoulder Exercises, Spine Problems, Occipital Neuralgia, Neck Problems
