Do Not Stand At My Grave And Weep Poem by Mary Elizabeth Frye

Do Not Stand At My Grave And Weep

Rating: 4.7

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.

A true tribute to the spirit of mankind, we are not just one element, mortal life is just one phase of a never ending circle.

this is one of my favorite poems... love never dies.. a loving soul will continue to exist even after death.. it will exist in all the elements that make this universe.. this is the way to remember someone or be remembered.. beautiful words..

I have always loved this poem. It was read at both my mom and dad's funeral. It's just the most beautiful poem for a loved one who has left this world to go on to the next.
