Eldorado
Gaily bedight,
A gallant knight,
In sunshine and in shadow,
Had journeyed long,
Singing a song,
In search of Eldorado.
But he grew old-
This knight so bold-
And o'er his heart a shadow
Fell as he found
No spot of ground
That looked like Eldorado.
And, as his strength
Failed him at length,
He met a pilgrim shadow-
"Shadow," said he,
"Where can it be-
This land of Eldorado?"
"Over the Mountains
Of the Moon,
Down the Valley of the Shadow,
Ride, boldly ride,"
The shade replied-
"If you seek for Eldorado!"
Good comment, YAH I have to admit, most of Poe's material goes right over my head

Poe is teaching something in Eldorado. He is secretly telling where Eldorado is as Poe will not be around much longer (yes he knew this) . Poe faked his murder and went to France for a reason. Why on earth did a Frenchman (Baudelaire) begin to translate Poe's work in 1852 if Poe himself didn't orchestrate the project? Poe is telling an American secret in Eldorado. It's not on land! ! but over the arch of the nine mountains in the line of the shadow! ! for a distance from somewhere... Poe was running from his demise in America...it was time for him to go. Poe was absolutely brilliant. So sad he's been painted black here in this country. Write me: kabauman86@hotmail.com
