To Save A Planet Poem by March Nicks

To Save A Planet

A tiny blue dot floats through the void
As it approaches, so much more is revealed
Mountains that reach high into the clouds
Kissing the atmosphere
Reminding us that beauty and power
Coexist

It seems as if this world housed oceans
With depths so deep
That no one could explore it all
Imagine the creatures big and small
That must have roamed this place
It must have been Incredible

Imagine the music of this place
The birds singing every living thing
Awake as the crickets sing the lullaby.
The water flowing like blood in our veins
Trees whistling in the wind,
Whispering secrets only they could comprehend

Once so vibrant
So majestic
So beautiful
But now, so alone
No more music, or lush greens and purples
Only valleys and trenches where rivers once flowed

We will ask ourselves for lifetimes to come,
How did it get to this?
Could we have done more?
Is there still time,
To save the planet?
