From blazes and blizzards to floods and fires, the Arkansas Red Cross fulfills the American Red Cross mission to prevent and alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies. For over 100 years, the Arkansas Red Cross has provided comfort, care and necessities to those affected by disaster. On the scene following tornadoes, floods and power outages, the Arkansas Red Cross also responds to an average of three house fires every day. We provide immediate assistance for food, shelter, clothing and emotional support.
In addition to disaster relief, the Red Cross educates the community in emergency preparedness, lifesaving First Aid/CPR/AED and water safety. Mandated by Congress to support communications between military members in the field and their families at home, the Red Cross also assists military families in times of financial crisis. Also, the Red Cross supplies nearly half of the region’s blood. With our many partners, the Red Cross is committed to building resilient communities by helping neighbors prepare for and respond to emergencies.

The American Red Cross in Arkansas is able to provide the immediate disaster relief to neighbors in need due to continued and generous support of businesses small and large across the state, including many across the nation with and without local connections. Their support is provided through financial donations directly or through employee and customer giving programs and with event sponsorships.
Donations of professional services through employee volunteer programs, as well as the donation of specific in-kind items enable Red Cross to deliver immediate disaster relief to residents across the state after disasters.
We thank our disaster partners for their concern of all of our neighbors, the recognition of the need to be prepared for response before disaster strikes and for their incredible support and expertise to keep the American Red Cross In Arkansas prepared and ready to respond to the call for help where ever and whenever it comes.
