Allred is entering her fifth season as the Mean Green’s Pitching Coach.
With a limited number of arms in the pitching staff in 2022, Allred coached two of the best arms in the conference in freshman RHP Skylar Savage and LHP Ashley Peters. During her time in Denton, Allred has been responsible for helping produce some of the best pitching numbers in program history. Since joining the Mean Green softball program, Allred has helped mentor Hope Trautwein to single-season program bests in wins (22 in 2019) and saves (4 in 2019) as well as 290 strikeouts in 285.1 IP. Under Allred’s watch, Trautwein earned 2019 First Team All-Conference distinction as well as Preseason All-Conference and Preseason Pitcher of the Year distinction in 2020.
The Mean Green pitching staff posted the lowest opponent batting average (.212) and second-lowest team ERA (2.31) in program history in 2020. Allred also coached former walk-on Bailey Tindell from a 3.94 ERA to a 2.70 ERA from her freshman to sophomores year.
In 2020, Allred watched as Hope Trautwein set the single-game strikeout record in the program and Conference USA when she struck out 21 batters in a win at Texas A&M – Corpus Christi on February 21.
Allred’s coaching career began in 2018 when she joined DeLong’s staff as the Pitching Coach at Austin Peay. While at Peay, the Governors' staff ranked 13th in Division I in strikeout-to-walk ratio (3.67) and posted the 32nd-best ERA (2.25) in the nation. Prior to her coaching career, Allred pitched for two season overseas. In 2017 she helped lead the Western Magpies (Auckland, New Zealand) to a National Championship after doing the same thing with the Therwill Flyers (Basel, Switzerland) in 2016.
A four-year letterwinner at McNeese State, Allred left as the program’s all-time leader in career wins (68), shutouts (16), single-season victories (27) and single-season shutouts (10) in 2014. During her final season with the Cowgirls in 2016, Allred led them to a school record 43 victories, earning 17 herself and helped earn the program’s first NCAA Tournament berth in six seasons.
Before McNeese, Allred was a four-year letterwinner and member of two district-champion teams at Hallsville high school and was twice named All-State. Allred was also named the District 13-4A Pitcher of the Year as a sophomore, and named the 14-4A district MVP and East Texas Pitcher of the Year as a junior.
