Answer the following questions.

1- Determine whether the following statements are true or false.

a) Neither the product nor the quotient of two negative integers is negative. (T / F)
b) The operation opposite multiplication is division. (T / F)

2- Use the division and multiplication tables below to determine A, B, C, D, E, F, G and H. Then
calculate A + B + C + D + E + F + G + H.

3) Fill in the blanks:

a) –15 ÷ 0 = ____
b)

4) Fill in the each empty cell so that a number in a cell is the product of two the integers
immediately beneath it.

5) There are 2 dining halls in a school. Each dining hall has 17 tables. If there are 4 pupils to each

(Don't use a calculator)

1) Determine whether the following statements are true or false.

a) Both the product and quotient of two negative

integers are negative integers. (T / F)

b) When an integer is divided by zero the quotient is

equal to the dividend. (T / F)

2) Use the division and multiplications tables below to determine A, B, C, D, L, M,

N and K. Calculate D + N.

3) Fill in the blanks and check your answers by using multiplication.

a) –5 ÷ (–1) = ____

b) 0 ÷ 2 = ____

4) Fill in the each empty cell so that a number in a cell is the product of the two
integers immediately beneath it.

5) The depth of a spot in the Straits of Malacca is 95 metres. A submarine is now

on the ocean surface and will be lowered 5 metres every minute.
Calculate the time taken for the submarine to reach the sea-bed.

Solutions:

1)

a) F
b) F

2)

3)

a) –5 ÷ (–1) = 5

b) 0 ÷ 2 = 0

4)
5) We can express the dept of that point as –95. The dept that submarine is
lowered every minute is –5. The time needed for the submarine to reach the sea-
bed is then –95 ÷ (–5) = 19.
