Converting a TPS file to RINEX Using Topcon Link

There are several reasons for converting a .tps file to RINEX format: OPUS rejects a valid file, you need to give the data to someone who isnt using Topcon Tools, or manually editing the observation data. After you have downloaded the file from the receiver, open Topcon Link. Click File then Convert Files (or press F5)

To select your GPS data, click Add files and browse to the folder where the file(s) are located.

Once the files have been selected, set the Destination folder (note: it will default to the last location used, NOT the location of the .tps files) then select the Destination format. For OPUS and many other applications, you want to select RINEX (*.??O;*.?? G; *.??N) under GPS+ Raw Data.

Should you need to remove a component of the data such as Glonass or L2, Click Advanced conversion options and uncheck the box beside the data to be removed.

To initiate the conversion click Convert.

The conversion process will create three files from the .tps file. The extensions will reflect the year the file was recorded and the letter O for the observation data, N for the GPS navigation data and G for the Glonass navigation data. The O file is the file that OPUS uses.
