    I am pleased to recommend Ms. Taylor Firman for a permanent teaching position in your district. During the 201415 school year, Ms. Firman taught 7th grade Social Studies at Larson Middle School. She had additional teaching
    duties at Troy High School. Taylor possesses several qualities that have allowed her to become a very successful
    classroom teacher in a short period of time. She is dynamic, innovative, and consistently demonstrates a student
    centered focus that will serve her well in any instructional environment.
    First and foremost, Taylor establishes a strong rapport with her students, who view her as approachable, fun, and
    connected to their lives. Ms. Firman is friendly and allows for humor in the classroom, but was always able to
    maintain the balance needed to keep the class on-task and headed in the direction of the learning goal. She
    developed and implemented differentiated lesson plans based on the diverse needs of her students. Each time I
    visited her classroom, I found her lessons had a clear focus, were varied in instructional style, and engaged each
    student. Lastly, she has a comprehensive plan for assessment including frequent formative checks each day.
    Ms. Firman was involved in many student activities beyond the classroom. Taylor played a prominent role in our
    Larson STRONG character education program, collaborating with other teachers to develop lessons that were fun,
    engaging, and targeted a specific character trait. While being one of our younger staff members, Taylor did not shy
    away from providing leadership and direction to this important work. Taylor also sponsored our 7th grade class trip
    to Chicago in April 2015. Without question, Ms. Firman will be one of your more dedicated and involved staff
    members.
    Ms. Firman has all of the ingredients necessary for long-term success in the classroom. She clearly embraces her
    students unique needs and has a passion for helping each one reach their full potential. Intrinsically, she has a
    desire for continuous improvement and will be one of your hardest workers. I recommend Taylor without
    hesitation. If you have additional questions, please contact me and I would be happy to discuss her candidacy.
