PEER REVIEW OF FAIRY TALE

Go into Google Classroom and UNSUBMIT your fairy tale. Next, go into Google
Docs and allow ONLY YOUR PARTNER to MAKE COMMENTS (THEY CANNOT
EDIT!) - besides me, of course!
Read your partner's fairy tale.
Go through the Fairy Tale Rubric below and make comments if he or she needs
to improve their writing: Go to the top right corner of the document and click on
"SUGGESTIONS"; Highlight the section that you are referring to, then start
typing. Your suggestion will be a different color.
1. Beginning starts with "Once Upon a Time" or something similar
Ending has "and they lived happily ever after" or something similar
2. Dialogue with quotation marks (NO "said") - at least 5 separate meaningful
conversations
MAKE SURE that you use quotation marks, a new paragraph for each quoted
separate dialogue.
3. Include 4 similes and metaphors - underline these phrases
4. Add one idiom - bold this phrase
5. Compare and contrast two of the characters.
Make positive suggestions, grammatical corrections (tense, spelling, etc.) and
spacing.
When that is done, make the corrections and add the suggestions into your fairy
tale if you agree. Re-submit your tale.

This activity went surprisingly well, although we would need to work more on
the types of suggestions and comments that they choose to include. There
was only one incident where we couldnt figure out where the document was
saved in. Otherwise, they were able to follow instructions and complete the
assignment.
