    TITLE ANNOTATION
    One of the main conventions of a horror-thriller genre is within
    the titles as this Is the first thing that the audience sees;
    therefore it sets the tone of the film immediately. With this
    in mind, the titles need to be strong and powerful.
    Further research was done to identify traits that are normally
    seen and associated with horror/thriller films. What
    appeared to be recognisable within the media industry
    during research was bold text. For example:


    Multiple horror/thriller film titles are also very short and posses
    no extravagance; this is to give nothing away from the
    actual film apart from the actual name of the film and the
    film itself. It also brings-forth the cold atmosphere and the
    mood of the film.
    When choosing our titles we conformed to these ideas by
    having the strong bold text. We also decided to have bland
    and dark colours. This then allowed us to have the effect of
    our film being eerie and tense as typically black connotes
    power, destruction, death and evil; which are apparent
    themes within our film. We also made our title come on
    quickly and abruptly. It then fades down, so the audience
    has a chance to read it. In comparison to the titles during
    the screening it adds significance as it is a different font.
    The previous font adds the portrayal of horror as it is all
    capitalized and looks as if it is sketched out. We did this as
    the title is the most recognisable aspect of the film it sums
    it up in its entirety, as well as highlights the atmosphere
    and mood.
