The key takeaways are that the sensory test was conducted to determine if assessors could differentiate between two brands of pomegranate juice by sight, smell and taste. Triangle test methodology was used and the R program was used to analyze the results.

The purpose of the sensory test was to taste different brands of the same product (pomegranate juice) and be able to tell the difference by tasting, seeing, and smelling.

The steps involved in conducting the sensory test were: 1) Preparing coded samples 2) Having assessors taste samples from left to right and rinse mouth with water 3) Assessors choosing the different sample on the evaluation form 4) Switching roles of assessor and tester.

Lab report
Introduction
What is the purpose? : To taste the different brand of
same product and be able to tell the difference by
tasting, seeing, and smelling.
What test did we perform? : We performed the sensory
test, using pomegranate juice of different brand and
the assessor will taste and choose the different one.
What information does the test provide? : We have
three cups of two brands of pomegranate juice and the
assessor have to taste and choose the difference one
on the evaluation form.
Method/materials
What type of this sensory test? : Triangle test
Why we use the triangle test? : The triangle test is
suitable for a pair sensing the difference one in the
three samples.
The "R" program is the program we use to calculate the
result of this sensory test. Including success, failure,
and p-value.
Materials : - Evaluation forms
- Two brands of pomegranate juice
- R program
- Cups

- Assessor
- Drinking water
Method :
1. Print out two evaluation forms.
2. Obtain two brands of pomegranate juice from the
teacher.
3. Prepare the samples, ranking from the code that
teacher gave for each person. DON'T LET YOUR PAIR
KNOW YOUR CODE.
4. Let your pair taste the samples from left to right.
After the assessor tasted each samples, the assessor
have to rinse mouth with drinking water.
5. Let your pair choose the different sample on the
evaluation form.
6. Your pair switch to do step1-5 and you become the
assessor.

Result
Hypothesis : There is a different between the two
products.
Null hypothesis : There is no difference between the
two products.

Discussion
Why people able to tell the difference? : They smelled
the samples, They tasted the samples, and they saw
the color that very different. Each brands of
pomegranate juice have different production so the
juice from different company will different.
How to improve test? : The two different brands
samples have ostensibly different color. To improve, we
should choose the brands that have similar color. Some
people do not drink pomegranate juice. To improve, we
should choose the products that very normal.
Conclusion
This experiment had something looked outstand
that's the color of pomegranate juice. Box A looks more
red than box B. We should improve about color. In order
to difficult to test and should be have more choice to
partner choose because have more pair is correct to
answer have only three pair. This experiment made us
better understanding the triangle test because we
really did it. The "R" program that use to calculate
statistics, graph, etc. We used the "R" program to
calculate the success, failure, and p-value of this

experiment. We just knew from this experiment that we

will better to taste in the room temperature drinks.
