This document is to clarify the general overview of the execution plan and method for the
cable conduit works ,which are embedded or surface types, set in KHABAT THERMAL
POWER PLANT Unit 1 & 2 Project located near Erbil City, KRG/Iraq.
The purpose of this Method Statement is to state the minimum key activities which shall be
carried out properly to execute the project objectives and requirements during Contract
period up to Issue Final Acceptance Certificate(FAC) by Employer for the project.
2SCOPE OF WORK
This method statement describeshow to create a complete secure conduit work and and
ensure the system sustainability during the power plant operation in light of the project
related drawings and standards.
Respectively, works will be in accordance to the related Specifications, Codes and
Standards, HSE Procedures and Approved Drawings.
3RESPONSIBILITIES
GAMA is responsible to ensure the healthiness of conduits and auxiliary materials during
construction and guarantee to keep the installed conduits in good condition as per the
project technical specification and general implementation rules and ensure the Quality
Assurance.
In order to provide performance of every sort of activities and operations (affecting the
quality of the product) pursuant to the defined documents, all deviations, errors or negative
issues shall be reported.

Storage of the materials, transporting materials to the place where the work activity will
appear, precautions for work safety, preparations before commencing installation and
complete implementation with fulfilling the project specification and regulations shall be
considered as one part during the execution of work.

Prior to start cable conduit work, the following site checkings should be followed properly.
All safety obligations shall be checked whether it is completed or not. The working shall be
checked prior to installation start whether it is suitable for insllation or not. If all aspects of
the work is completed thenthe conduit work could start.

Conduits, where they are placed on the surface, shall be exposed and all conduits shall
be routed to the suitable location till the power source or the tray for ease of installation of

cables. Conduit supports shall be fixed at particular intervals as per 50 cm with suitable
metal clamps for proper installation. Where bending is required the premanufactured
bends shall be installed for turns on vertical and horizontal directions. From cable tray to
the conduits and conduits to the equipment ,the extending of the cables shall be done via
flexible conduits with suitable glands.
Conduits, where they are placed in the concrete or wall structure, the conduit installation
method shall be embedded type. Conduits embedded in the concrete or wall structure
shall be installed as perdrawings and necessary controls for conduits shall be done before
concrete pouring. The conduits and boxes shall be fixed properly attaching on the steel
structure or wall structure with steel tie to prevent damages and keep it in the position
required during concrete pouring and for later fixture installation. Where ceiling type
lighting fixtures are available, conduits should be installed at least 10 cm away from the
fixturesin order not to damage the conduit while installation of the fixtures. Boxes shall be
installed where branching is available. Conduits on walls shall be installed after
completion of the wall chipping. All placement of metal boxes of power socket, lighting
switch and other services shall be completed according to the related drawings
considering also project technical requirements. If necessary the metal boxes shall be
mounted with the help of gypsum on wall.

11PROGRESS MEASUREMENT
Progress will be followed by BUKEM TELEKOM Site Representatives by daily.
12QUALITY REQUIREMENTS
Subcontractor shall strictly comply with the BUKEM TELEKOM Project QA/QC Plan.
Subcontractor is committed to establish, document, implement, and maintain the project
quality management system (QMS) and continually improve its effectiveness in accordance
with international standards.
Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) for Electrical Works(Cable Pulling,Termination,Jointing and
Conduit) (Doc. No: KP-00+++-CQ712-G0012) shall be followed during the execution of
works. Works and reporting shall be carried out by the Subcontractor in accordance to the
ITP and required documents mentioned on the ITP shall be submitted to BUKEM TELEKOM
for his review.
In addition all employees and GAMA subcontractor employees on site will have through
GAMA Project Safety Induction for site safety, health and environmental prior to work
activities. Other training courses will be attended as required by GAMA or POSCO as
required.

Each work scope or task will have a completed and approved Job Safety Analysis and
Risk Assessment (JSARA) identifying the potential hazards and control measures that will
be implemented to protect people and environment. The JSARA will be used by Supervisor
as the basis of conducting his daily site briefings for the workers.
In addition to the above, all employees conducting the works defined in this Method
Statement will wear basic PPE which is highly visible vest, hardhat, safety shoe, safety
googles. For additional safety requirements for a particular or specific task please refer to
the JSARA prepared for that task.
