GENERAL OBJECTIVE
Student will perform basic operations with algebraic expressions and will apply mathematical
procedures and techniques to solve problems related to linear equations, quadratic and system of
equations with two variables, including modeling and graphics, promoting teamwork and analysis of
cases where basic knowledge and critical thinking would be involved to solve real life situations.
GENERAL COMPETENCIES:
Express and Communicate
• Listen, understand and communicate proper messages within different context through the use of means,
codes, and appropriate tools.
Collaborative Work
• Participate and collaborate in different teams effectively.
SUBJECT COMPETENCIES:
• Construct and understand mathematical models through the application of arithmetic, algebraic,
geometric procedures in order to recognize and analyze solutions to real, theoretical and formal
cases.
• Develop and solve math problems by different approaches.
• Explain and reason outcomes obtained after using mathematical procedure, also compare them
with models or real cases.
• Discuss the solution of a problem considering methods, graphs, analysis using a mathematical
language and the use of information and communication technology.
• Read and understand charts, graphs, maps, diagrams, and paragraphs with scientific and
mathematical symbols.

Class Rules
Students must observe the following rules:
• Read, understand and observe code of discipline and conduct of the school, including details about
requirements or essays for each subject. (official cover with logos)
• Demonstrate quality in any work, assignment or project. Teacher will accept only well done and presented
works, in case you would need to re-do your assignment.
• Pre-read topics to be covered in class, highlighting and/or summarizing important information about the
reading.
• Demonstrate an excellent attitude and cooperation when working in teams,
• Perform oral presentations with confidence and quality.
• Organize notes, homeworks, quizzes and projects in a portfolio.
• In case of missing homework or material needed for class, you will receive a maximum of 50/100 of grade in
the homework, if it is complete and correct for the next class and also you will receive a discipline report.
• Any student that exceeds more than 20%of absences will not be able to take the corresponding
exam/quiz/evaluation according to the school policies.
Course Content:
Topics are arranged in six different units, its sequence may be altered upon the teacher needs and/or
program advance. These units do not correspond to units in the textbook.
