CURBFRONTAGE
Length: related to the mix of vehicle types and expected curb dwell time

SIDEWALK PLATFORMS
Located adjacent to curb/maneuvering lanes and building entrances and exits Provides passenger walkways and safety areas for loading and unloading of vehicles

ENPLANING CURB AND DEPLANING CURB


Separated physically either horizontally at each of the terminal building or vertically by means of structural vehicular ramps Horizontal Separation Deplaning curb is located at the far end of the terminal with respect to approaching vehicular traffic Vertical Separation Deplaning is on the lower level Purpose: to minimize the congestion caused by concentration of opposing flows and volumes of persons, baggage, and ground vehicles in one area.

CURBSIDE BAGGAGE CHECK-IN

Permits baggage to be checked directly to the appropriate airline flight Composition: Baggage check-in desk Baggage handtrucks Baggage conveyor or belt

TERMINAL ENTRYWAYS
Terminal Entrance Location: enplaning curb areas and open directly into airline ticket counter lobbies Terminal Exits Location: in close proximity to baggage claim facilities and open to deplaning curbs Automatic doors are highly recommended for: Passenger baggage carrying convenience As a weather buffer Increase the efficiency of passenger movement in energy conservation measures

PEDESTRIAN CROSSINGS AND WALKWAYS


Should be well marked Consideration should be given to traffic-controlled crosswalks or to grade separation by means of overpasses and tunnels

Location: A walking distance of no more than 300 meters from parked vehicles to terminals Sizing: Range: 1000 to 1400 parking slots 1.5 times the number of peak hour passengers area per parked vehicle (including lanes): 31.5m 2 to 36m 2
