English Lesson 1
English Lesson 1
Ex. 1.1
Many times I have written songs that have, personally, touched and changed my life. But only a few times have I written songs that have changed peoples lives. My writings have taught people to look deeper at life and to peer into the smallest crevices of their lives and hearts. My small pen stokes are me expressing who I am and what I do. I cant wait to share my words with the rest of the world.
Ex 1.2
My favorite author is Ted Dekker; a fictional fantasy and thriller writer. The style that he writes is a style that has not been created by any other man, except by him. Ted Dekker takes that which is dark and exposes it for what it really is. Unrefined, pure, dark, and evil. And he brings out the truth behind that darkness. Ted Dekker really affects how I write in the way that I want the reader to see things for what they really are. Real, instead of watered-down. Difficult, instead of the easy-way-out. Driven instead of simple. I want to be able to open up peoples eyes, minds, and curiosity.
Ex. 1.3
The last time I wrote was when I was simply writing for me. A time for enjoyment and enthusiasm. I wanted to be able to express who I was without the rules and regulations of being told of who to be. I knew what I wanted to write about from the month of previous thinking and planning. Keep it complex, yet beautiful. Focused, yet throwing in twists and turns . Real, yet having the imaginative sense tossed in to get me thinking.. I kept it to myself. I wanted to be able to have this one secret that was mine. That allowed me to be myself. Defying and bold. I wanted to be able to be who I was meant to be without having to explain myself. I told no one. Only that paper that held all of me in the same 8.5 x 11 inch area. There I was an open book. Yet left in secrecy.
I rewrote, moved, added, and cut a lot of stuff from the original rough draft and the many drafts afterwards. I felt like I was peeling back the layers of a tree to get to the core of the life source. I applied myself to refine my work without the help of an editor. I applied myself to pry around the inside of a wound and I found something beautiful. I found me.
Ex. 1.4 Writing is like a door, once you put pen to paper, you open that door and you see beyond what is in front of you and you see a whole new panoramic view to the outside world.
