Final Check Before Despatch
Strict adherence to quality
standards is ensured at every
stage of fabrication, from
the processing of raw
material onwards.
Spot WeldingThermal Transfer Products Private Limited (TTP) are manufacturers of world-class Transformer Radiators,
functioning as heat-exchangers for Power and Distribution Transformers, since 1984. This brochure outlines the
range of radiators suitable for transformers confirming to EC76 and ANSI C57 standards. The Company's adherence
to strict quality assurance procedures is backed by ISO 9002 certification from KEMA, the Dutch Council for
Accreditation. TTP transformer radiators are used by discerning transformer manufacturers worldwide.
TYPES OF RADIATORS
1, WELDABLE (W)
2, DETACHABLE (F)
3, INTEGRAL HEADER (IH)
4, SWAN NECK (SN)
CONSTRUCTION TYPE
1, The Panels are constructed of
4.2mm (18 gauge) or 4.6mm (16
guage) Cold Rolled Carbon Stee! (CR)
or 304. / 316L Stainless Steel (SS).
The header pipe to DIN 2393, BS
6323 and SS tube ASTM A-312.
2. Painted (P) with either Epoxy (PE) or
Polyurethane (PP) system or alkyd
system (PA),
Spray galvanized (SG)
Perimeter edge welded (EW).
Fan brackets (FB).
Widths of panel: 520/380/300/
226mm,
Panel spacing of 50/45/40/38mm (P).
8. Bracing straps for radiators (BS).
9. Accessories (A) as per customer's
requirement,
INTERCHANGEABILITY
All radiators are made with specially
designed jigs and fixtures. This ensures
interchangeability of radiators of same
centres (ct)
WELDING STANDARDS
4. ANSI / AWS D9, 1-90 Sheet metal
welding code
2. AWS C1. 1-66 Recommended
practices for resistance welding
ROUTINE TEST
All radiators are pressure-tested
individually for leak tightness under
‘water, at an air pressure of 2.5 kg/om®
‘for a period of one hour.
TYPE TEST (When agreed upon)
41. Radiators are type-tested for leakage
against transformer oil at 105°C
(21°F) and pressure of 1 kg/cm?
(14.7 PSI) for 12 hours.
2. The radiators are type-testad to
withstand a vacuum of 5.0 torr for
one hour. Permanent deflection
measured at the center ofthe section
does not exceed 0.5mm {0.019").
PAINTING AND FINISHING
EXTERNAL
Surface Preparation
Weldments and inaccessible areas,
abound on radiators. Hence the use of
high-pressure steel grt-blasting ensures
cleaning of entire surface area and gives,
the necessary anchor profile for bonding
of paints or for sprayed zinc
(galvanizing).
The Primer
Two-component zinc-rich epoxy paints
with over 80% zinc content are sprayed
with custom-made spray equipment,
followed by flow-coating of a special
epoxy primer to reach all comers and
crevices
Alternatively, are spray galvanizing with
99.9% zinc is carried out as per ANSI
AWS G 2.18-93 for long-term protection
followed by an additional coat of zino-
rich epoxy on the insides, and
subsequently flow-coated with epoxy
primer.
Intermediate Coat
Hi-build epoxy provides a barrier coat
with or without micaceous iron oxide.
Finish Paint
Special guns are used to spray two-
‘component polyurethanes.
Alternatively, flow coating is done with
superior alkyds.
‘The above paint systems would meet the
requirement of ANS| 57.12.28 covering
salt spray, adhesion, humidity, oi
resistance, UV and abrasion.
All ragiators after finish coat of paint are
dried in a specially designed and built
hot air oven to ensure proper curing of
painted surfaces of hoth inside and
outside.
INTERNAL
Dry air purging is followed by flushing
vith special solvents. A coat of phenolic
resin-based insulating varnish of
‘temperature index 120°C (Thermal Ciass
£)is applied. Alternatively, radiators are
flushed with fresh transformer oil at 2
vary high velocity to clean the internal
surfaces and to remove all welding metal
debries, a coat of transformer oils thus
left over.
PACKAGING
Packing in wooden crates as well as in_
marine frieght containers for exports are
standard. Sea-worthy crate paoking is,
also available.
All care is taken to stop movement of
radiators within the crate during
transhipment by providing tie flats
between radiators, This will avoid edge
damages of radiator fins
Where inside surface of radiator is
coated with only transformer oil, the
radiators are filled with inert gas at a
positive pressure through a non-return
valve and sealed. This will make sure the
internal surface does not rust during
transportation and storage,
