Delhi Meerut Expressway: Bridges Over Yamuna, Hindon, Hindon Cut & Upper Ganga Canal
The Delhi- Meerut Expressway (DME) has been envisaged to provide better connectivity between the capital city of Delhi to the satellite town Meerut, which is a fast growing industrial hub to the north east of Delhi. Presently the city is connected to Delhi through NH-58 which has reached its capacity. The DME shall provide a fast and safe alternative to the traffic between the cities. The Expressway is about 65 km long and is designed for a speed of 120 kmph. The Expressway will be fully access controlled facility and improvement of existing highway alignment is focused, new pavement for widened sections, strengthening for existing road, provision of service roads wherever necessary, underpasses for both vehicular traffic and pedestrians, interchanges/flyovers, railway crossing (ROBs), rehabilitation and widening of existing structures and provision of new bridges/structures and appropriate road safety features. Bridge Over Pond (Neela Hauz) on Aruna Asaf Ali Road, New Delhi
Construction of bridge over pond (Neela Hauz) connecting the two segments of the Aruna Asaf Ali Road (Road No. 16) is part of traffic improvement for the comfortable alternate connectivity to the airport. The scope of consultancy services includes the preparation of structural designs and drawings of all the following components: Bridge: Construction of 2 bridges having dual carriageway of 3 lanes each with central verge and cycle track-cum-footpath on either side. The length of each bridge is 126.5 m separated by an island of length 126 m. The outer to outer width of the superstructure was 28.0 m. Approach Roads: Construction of 280 m long approach road on each side.
