It is advisable to confirm positive samples with other methods employing specific treponemal antigen e.g. TPHA, FTA-ABS, etc. 2. Biological false positive results may be seen in presence of diseases such as Leprosy,Malaria ,Toxoplasmosis ,IM, SLE or high degree of bacterial contamination and incertain physiological conditions.
