The Museum of London tells the story of the worlds greatest city and its people.
With two iconic venues and thousands of treasures spanning 450,000 years, the Museum of London offers a detailed record of London's history that cannot be found anywhere else in the city, making it the only place to start your visit to the capital. The Museum of London is situated in the City, near St Pauls Cathedral. Through interactive displays and real artefacts, the Museum brings the varied history of London to life from prehistoric times to the present day. A few minutes from the shops and restaurants of Canary Wharf, the Museum of London Docklands charts the long history of London as a port through stories of trade, migration and commerce, in a beautiful, Grade I listed, Georgian warehouse.

7. The exquisite Fanshawe dress was made from local Spitalfields silk woven by French Huguenots and worn by Ann Fanshawe when her father was Lord Mayor of London in 1752-53. 8. Our beautifully recreated 18th century pleasure gardens are full of period costumes and specially commissioned hats and masks by Philip Treacy.
The Museums shop sells an extensive range of souvenirs and gifts, from postcards, posters and prints, to books, toys and audio-visual material. The Museum is fully accessible to wheelchair users.
