Day fun

We always begin our school year with several days of color themed activities. This gives us a chance to get to know our students and their academic levels while reviewing skills and establishing our routines and schedules. Each day we focus on a different color. We do a variety of activities that involve vocabulary recognition, literature, art, and writing. We ask parents to volunteer to send special color day snacks for us and we have the students all try to dress in our color of the day. We hope you and your students enjoy this unit as much as we always do. If you have any questions, comments or feedback we would love to hear from you. Diane and Kelly

This week we will begin a color theme. This will go along with our review and assessments so I can get to know your childs academic level. We will plan to work with a different color each day doing activities that involve vocabulary recognition, literature, art, writing, and even eating a snack. I am asking that the children all try to wear something showing the color each day that we will be working with. Here is a schedule to keep handy to help your child dress wearing the color of the day.

This is a fun filled day of OPPOSITES! Before reading all of your books about opposites make a list of opposites that the students know. Then read the books and compare and add the new sets of opposites that they learned. They will then illustrate the opposites in their books and add two more of their own.

Read Harry the Dirty Dog and make an opposites day art project to go with the story.
