The restriction Orifices are used mainly to drop the pressure in pipe line. There is no fluid flow rate measurement involved and main emphasize is given to kill the pressure in the pipe line. Some times the pressure drop required is very high due to which the fluid velocity will increase extremely high thereby increasing the noise level within the instrument .The fluid starts flowing at sonic flow conditions. In order to overcome this, rather dropping the pressure suddenly in single stage, multiple Restrictions Orifices are arranged at one times Pipe Internal diameters distances and welded together to form the Multistage Restriction Orifice Assembly. The Fluid Flows in sub-sonic level only and the noise level is within the specified limits..

The Restriction Orifices are arranged in eccentric manner, diametrically opposite each other. The total pressure drop achieved is the Inlet Pressure of first stage minus the differential pressure / DP (Outlet Pressure) after last stage.
