TURBINE ASSEMBLY, FIRST-STAGE PLANNING INFORMATION: EFFECTIVITY: All 250-C18, A, B, C; -C20; -B15G; and -Bl? Turbine Assemblies This bulletin service releases a first-stage nozzle diaphragm featuring a long cylindrical section for better flexibility. The diaphragm is used to rework original configuration nozzles to the more desirable configuration. Original first-stage nozzles are reworked only by Wall Colmonoy Corp. or Metallurgical Consultants, Inc. into the new configuration by: 1. Removing the original diaphragm. 2. 3. 4. Machining off the original diaphragm attachment ring from the casting. Brazing a new diaphragm attachment ring at a new location. P/N 6871591 and 6877141 Turbine First-stage Nozzle Assemblies should have the superseded diaphragm replaced by P/N 6879871 at next overhaul. Nozzle assemblies which require modification must be reworked only to Wall Cohnonoy Corporation Process Specification No. 2122 orMetallurgical Consultants, Inc., Process Procedure TR211 and Figure 1. These nozzles, together with one new P/N 6879871 Diaphragm for each nozzle, should be shipped directly to either vendor for rework. The addresses are: Wall Colmonoy Corporation 2226 West Malone Street San Antonio, Texas 78211 Metallurgical Consultants, Inc. 8100 East Slauson Avenue Montebello, California 90640 NOTE: In addition to the size and location of the new diaphragm attachment ring, brazed to the nozzle ID, Figure 1 shows the minimum aIlowabIe wall thickness of the nozzle ID.
